Through a collaboration between Tiffany & Co. with Whitney Biennale, five artists will exhibit a series of limited edition works during the Salone del Mobile. Studio Milo is teaming up with Baxter to create an intimate and sophisticated lounge in the Tiffany boutique at Via Della Spiga where customers and guests can relax and enjoy the show.
How do high end jewellery and design come together?
Since the very beginning, design has been a core pillar of inspiration and an integrated element of the Tiffany & Co. brand and philosophy. The founder, Charles Lewis Tiffany was a board member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. His son Louis Comfort Tiffany was a board member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. His son Louis Comfort Tiffany was an acclaimed painter with a particular interest in art and interior design. He was especially well known for his glass lamps, an influential symbol of Art Nouveau. Today the MET displays more than 100 exhibits of his work. Over the last 180 years Tiffany & Co. has built long lasting partnerships with its designers to create unique and beautiful pieces which reflect its brand values. Today Tiffany & Co. is a partner supporting two important shows: Rauschenberg in China (and Rauschenberg in London), and also the Biennale with the Whitney Museum for this year and forthcoming exhibitions in 2019 and 2021.
Does the Salone del Mobile present any interesting synergies for Tiffany & Co.?
Salone del Mobile is an important event for Milan. The city welcomes local and international visitors for multiple events covering many sectors. The Tiffany & Co. brand has a solid connection with the world of design and over the years our store in Via Della Spiga has hosted art exhibitions especially created for Design Week. This year we are delighted to host a worldwide preview of the multi-media show “Tiffany x Whitney”. The event will showcase the work of five Biennale artists who will exhibit a series of limited edition works created through their collaboration with the expert craftsmen at Tiffany & Co.
Jewellery and design always transmit values beyond the object itself – which are the values Tiffany & Co. wants to transmit?
Tiffany & Co.’s foundations are based on strong brand values: supreme excellence from manufacture to the sales experience and flawless customer service, exclusivity, timeless elegance, joy, energy, creativity and all the doors that true love opens…
